Join coach Kim Rudd and Matt Liebsch for a morning of skate technique drills. Fall is a perfect time to focus on specific technique drills to prepare for the upcoming ski season. The session will focus on the following techniques…
- Agility/cornering skills
- Legs only drills
- Arms only double pole drills
- V2 technique
When: Oct. 13th, 8 – 9:30 AM
Where: French Regional Park (meet at the far north parking lot across from the main chalet parking lot). The group will rollerski on the bike path up to the newly paved 36th Street. We will work on 1/2 mile hill repeats using this quiet dead-end road for our entire session.
What: Skate technique rollerski clinic focused on skate technique agility/cornering, specific strength in both legs only and arms only drills along with V2 technique drills.
Ability levels: All participants area welcome to attend but must have at least one season of rollerski experience before attending the session.
What to Bring: Skate rollerskis, helmet, skate poles with sharp rollerski tips and a water bottle carrier.

About your coaches….
Matt Leibsch

Matt is the co-owner of Pioneer Midwest along with Adam and is an American Birkiebeiner Champion, multi-time World Cup racer with the US Ski Team, and still actively involved in racing at the local, regional, and national level. He bought his first set of skis from Pioneer Midwest in 2000 and his love for the sport grew quickly. Matt raced for Osseo High School before skiing competitively for the University of Minnesota, CXC Elite Team, and currently the Salomon Elite Team. Before working in the ski industry, Matt worked at Honeywell Aerospace, Danfoss, and Johnstech International as an electrical engineer, focusing on quality, production line support, and test lab projects. Matt is married to Marybeth Liebsch, and together they have three beautiful young children. In his free time, Matt loves chasing around his kids, racing triathlons, and coaching at the high school and Master’s level.
Kim Rudd

Kim Rudd founded Endurance Adventures. Her passion for Nordic skiing started while racing in high school and being exposed to the famous Minnesota Finlandia ski race. She continued to ski race in college at Bemidji State University, where she met her soulmate and adventure partner, Craig Rudd. Kim has enjoyed racing for Team Rossignol for thirty years in various ski marathons around the Midwest and internationally.
She also enjoys mountain biking, canoe/SUP adventures, and coaching youth and adults at the Loppet Foundation. Kim is certified as a Level 200 BICP and Level 200 USSA Nordic coach. She is excited to share her passion for travel, cycling, and Nordic skiing with other like-minded adventure seekers! Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, reading, traveling, and bike packing!
