Mother’s Day Memories

Mother’s Day Memories from the Endurance Adventure Newsletter Readers

Hands down, my favorite Mother’s Day adventure took place last spring, when I hiked on the TMB Trail in Italy with my two girls. The spring wildflowers were in full bloom as we hiked a section of the trail from the base of Courmayeur, Italy. Hiking with my two girls in God’s amazing creation was a gift!

This past Mother’s Day, I enjoyed walking with my mom and sister at the MN Arboretum to see the tulips in full bloom. I am grateful to my mom for passing down her passion for gardening, which has become one of my favorite hobbies.

Kim and her mom are at the MN Arboretum!

Endurance Adventure Mother’s Day Raffle participants share their most memorable outdoor adventure with their mothers! I encourage you to plan some adventures with your mom this upcoming summer.

Katie Woletz: I enjoyed traveling to Europe with my mother.

Liz Stromayer: My mom and I used to go on a famous mother-daughter camping trip every summer. We always had a silly, unforgettable, and hilarious time; every trip left us with a lasting memory.

Audrey Sheffield: My mom has been my lifelong favorite hiking and outdoor adventure friend! For her 60th birthday, I gave my mom a Woodswomen backpacking trip through Utah’s desert slickrock in the Escalante Canyon area. It was the biggest backpacking adventure either of us had ever been on. We got to hike through creeks and on arid plateaus. At the end of the trip, a couple of young guys heading the other direction asked us how long we’d been out. “Six days!” we said. They said we looked pretty good for 6 days out. Must have been the clean shirts we’d saved for the last day!

Nancy Conger: I remember taking my mom to Medora, ND, in her mid-90s, and seeing her come to life at all the natural beauty.

Eileen Kirsch: Every summer, my family went camping in the Sierra Nevadas, and I loved hiking and enjoying wildflowers with Mom.

Katie Hickey: I’m taking my 90-year-old mom to Seagull Lake to visit her old cabin site in what’s now the BWCA!
